Elisabeth Sladen best known for her role in the classic Dr Who and later The Sarah Jane Adventures died today at the age of 63, it is believed to have been the result of a long term illness.

I remember her alongside John Pertwee (my first Dr) and she crossed over to the uber Tom Baker, her return to the series was an excellent step and while I never really got into her show it was popular and got critical acclaim for CBBC, she will be missed.
